Chapter 1
The library doors opened and Brian was met by a rush of cool November air. For a moment he just stood in the doorway, inhaling deeply of the autumn breeze. It had been nearly twelve hours since he had last walked through these doors on his way into the library to study for a chemistry exam. Now he was exhausted and ready to collapse. High school had never been this hard for him. In fact, he had been one of the smartest kids in the class. But every student at this place had been the smartest kid in their class, and Brian was no longer at the head of the pack. But he was holding his own and that would have to do for now.
He glanced up at the stars and then began the long walk back to his dorm room. Physically, Brian was unremarkable. He was short--5'6", 160 pounds with dark brown hair and blue eyes. He was smart and funny, and over the years girls had always been attracted to him as a friend, nothing more. He had always derived his self-confidence from his success in school, but now it felt like that was slipping away.
He went over the chemical formulas over and over again in his head until he reached his dorm room. Fortunately he had been assigned a single room this year and hedidn't have to contend with a roommate. He unlocked the door, threw down his backpack, and woke up his laptop. He sat down, rubbed his eyes, and slowly let them refocus on the screen. A subtle wave of excitement passed over him when he saw that she had left him a message.
"She" was Alyssa. Brian had met her in middle school and they had been quickly grown to be best friends. They had been there for each other through all the tough times in high school and had ended up at the same college. They had never really been more than friends, although both of them had considered it. Brian's eyes were by far his best feature and sometimes Alyssa just couldn't stop looking into them. Alyssa's best feature was probably her chest, and she frequently caught Brian staring. She had grown into quite an attractive woman since they met. She stood 5'4" tall, 120 pounds with sandy blonde hair and gray-blue eyes. Her breasts easily filled out a 34C bra.
Her message was short: "B - I haven't seen you in a week! I know you've been killing yourself for that chemistry exam. You're going to do fine, though. Anyway, let's have dinner when you're done with it. Meet me outside thedining halltomorrow at 8. Love ya! - A." She always signed off that way, and he loved it. He knew it was a platonic "love ya" but nevertheless he liked reading it and did several times. At least he would have something to look forward to after the exam. He fell into bed, his thoughts a mixture of chemistry formulas and Alyssa.
Alone in her dorm room halfway across campus, Alyssa stood in front of a mirror, stripped down to her panties. Her body was different. Two weeks ago she had stopped using her volumizing conditioner because her hair had suddenly grown thicker and fuller than it had ever been. Her collerbone was now visible and her breastshad swelled into two perfect spheres that were beginning to push the limits of her 34C bras. Her stomach was flat and smooth, and there was the slightest hint of definition in her abdominal muscles. The odd thing about this was that she hadn't set foot in the campus gym since school started months ago. Her legs seemed a little longer and when she had measured her height against the wall she was surprised to see that the tape measure read 5'5"--an inch more than it should have. And then there were the intangibles. Alyssa felt different. She couldn't really put it into words. She was keenly aware of her body. It was like a presence or a force. For whatever reason, she looked down at her right arm and clenched her fist. She closed her eyes and gasped slightly as a feeling coursed through her, a feeling she had not experienced before.Startled and a littlefrightened, she put on a tank topand turned off the light. She had no idea what was going on, but for now she had decided to get some sleep. Maybe she would talk about it with Brian tomorrow.
