Project S Chapter 9

Olivia would be over active after the events concerning the meeting with the Asian man that appeared to be as powerful as Olivia was. She would have plenty of gaming tournaments in LA and San Francisco fighting the best gamers on the west coast like Justin Wong and Alex Valle. She even tied Daigo in a 4 major match ups 2 games each in a period of 7 days when only 1 other American player could beat him and the loses to Daigo came down to the final hit and the hits were fluke hits as well and she didn’t mean to actually press the button but it helped her out those few times. She would think that her reflexes would help her but the natural reflexes and instincts of her foes accounted for her better reaction time and that was something she couldn’t always account for. When she wasn’t playing games she was looking for the guy that tried to kill her. She would have a very hard time tracking him because of how mobile he seemed to be but no info existed as far as who he is even after a few weeks. Olivia would even work on her unarmed combat as well if they she saw him again. She even avoided her usual nights of sexual passion consciously to focus on her ability to fight unarmed. “Mr. Smith” was amazed the amount of focus placed on this goal and he told her a potential lead he didn’t want to tell her about at first and he would speak to her privately in their hotel room in LA.

“Why is this lead you are talking about something you wouldn’t want to tell me about?” Olivia asked.

“It is because of your maturity but since you focused on self defense training so much instead of having usual nights of passion tell me you might be trusted to handle it.”

“Spill it already.”

“It is the headquarters for the Heroic Defenders off the LA coast.”

Olivia was shocked to hear this and wondered why it was thought she couldn’t handle it and she was really curious about how her new powers would hold up against them. She would ask how they know something about the guy she was looking for. “Mr. Smith would say that they were battling him and the clones and they were given a really hard time as well.”

“Hard time why, with all the powerful people they have and they can’t handle a few clones or that guy.”

“Have you ever noticed that your powers adjust itself based on what you need during your training at our base.”

“Yeah so.”

“The clones you have an easy time beating have this same ability and it even grants them a high level resistance to all their power from Psygirl’s mental powers to Ultimo’s super strength. They are barely able to handle a few clones and can’t handle him at all even if they attack him all at once.”

“Then why don’t they adjust my powers?”

“Because your adjustment power accounts for their adjustment powers and beats it easily besides they can only adjust for so much. They can’t adjust for someone like you but have an easy time adjusting for the powers of the Heroic Defender.”

“So I could very likely beat them right?”

“This is why the majority issue comes in. They are heroes of the world, our group focuses on taking down the organization that make the clones not to deal with the specific clones on a daily basis. If you get used to the fact that your power will overpower theirs will mean you might try to take advantage of it and let your ego get the best of you.”

“I am not that bad.”

“You are still just a 17 year old kid that doesn’t know how to truly realize your true potential yet. I think I will attempt to trust you this time to get the info from them without getting to egoistical but if you too wrapped up about fighting them and letting your power advantage get to you. I won’t trust you with type of lead again understand me.”

“Yes, I will do everything in my power to avoid any conflict with them but I have 1 question though.”

“I am listening.”

“Can’t we have them help us they have been around for a while they might know more about my parents then we might think.”

“They don’t like us and refuses to help us that is why, it isn’t what we did they associate us with Bluto’s group and nothing we do will ever change that.”

Olivia looked down and out and “Mr. Smith” didn’t try to sooth her and just walked out of the room but before he walked out he would say one thing, “If you can handle this mission I will give you the means to control the limiter on your wrist. That should be some encouragement for you and now would be the best time to get going since most of them are away taking care of a major mission on the other side of the country if you get my hint.” He said leaving the room. Olivia would put forth more mental focus on keeping her composure and control and power up before she put on her battle suit and made her way to the island by swimming up to it careful super fast deep underwater. She didn’t need to breeze at all whether she happened to be underwater or in space, she felt it was a major advantage as far as her ability to get close to the island without having to surface.

While in her enhanced looking form she would make her way to an underwater cave under the base and passed right through it with her stealth field to keep herself invisible to their defenses. The door would be open slightly and it was easy for her to do it as well as if the doors weighed no more than 1 lb and she had to be careful to avoid overdoing it. Some alarms were going off but the door was undamaged and no signs of obvious intrusions were found. Olivia was already away from the door when the security drones arrived there. The base was mostly empty except for the 2 heroes known as Silver Blazer the speed freak and Blaster an energy absorber and projector. It was their turn to watch over the base while the rest of the group headed out to take care of a major emergency near Boston. Being the youngest member of the group, Silver Blazer a man of Hispanic descent had much potential but often acted like a bone head explaining why one of the more experienced members of the team Blaster a man an American male was watching over him. At the main frame in the control room, both of them were talking about how boring the month has been without any major attacks by clones or their enemies the Doomsday league for some time. Security sweeps were done by security drones that traveled the who facility 24 hours a day and even had technology to capture intruders if they were caught but nothing was found as usual since most people don’t think about attacking good guy’s main base of operation too often.

“So when are they supposed to come back Blazer I really it when our turn comes around for patrol watch,” Silver Blazer said yawning as the screen continued to show nothing on screen.

“They will get here as soon as they can don’t get so impatient Ultimo trusted us to keep this place safe and that is what we will do. You will never earn Ultimo’s trust with that attitude look alive and be more proactive.”

“But nothing is happening right now the automatic defenses are doing most of the work.”

“Fine then go out there and look around yourself then if something happens you will be closer to the event then I will and you will be the first 1 to encounter the intruder.”

“About time, “Silver Blazer would head out swiftly creating a good breeze in the process and it made Blaster wonder why Ultimo decided to pick up the high school drop out Silver Blazer was and make him a part of the team against the will the rest of the group. While remaining underwater for what seemed to be forever thanks to her ability survive without breathing she look around in what seemed to be the docking bay for the underwater vehicles they had and noticed small flying machines that looked like security drones equipped with cameras and move around at random times and making it impossible to time her surfacing properly and she only had about 7 and a half hours to make something happen while her super human abilities were near their limit. She had to risk surfacing but she would have good idea of what she should do first. Still submerged Olivia would look for wiring she could dismantle and found them. The wires were protected by a thin metallic looking substance that seemed soft but gave her a hard time at first but her physical strength would kick in a few seconds to automatically enhance itself to a level high enough to rip them open like they were paper. Ultimo the strongest member of the super hero group would have to put a considerable amount of his own energy to rip these cords and he wouldn’t have been able to tear them open as easily as she did. The second thing as the power going through the power lines was that the energy going through them could have injured or potentially killed any member of the super hero group if they were touching them for too long but to Olivia was a minor discomfort it barely tickled her even with the massive amounts of power going through them. It wasn’t a power normal people used either, she knew this based on how the energy was hitting her and the energy was coming from below as well making her wonder where it was coming from. The power to the docking bay went out and this caught the attention of Blaster in the control room right away, “No way how could someone be strong enough to rip the power cables from the crystal apart even ultimo couldn’t do that and live to tell about it.” He would tell Silver Blazer to investigate the underwater docks. The security drones switched to infrared and went into the water to investigate what happened below. Olivia would act quickly as fast as the power went out still with the invisibility field still to Olivia’s surprise she surfaced and hid behind a rock staying perfectly still until she saw one of her favorite heroes the Silver Blazer in his white and black costume with a lightning bolt designs on it and he was looking around for someone he didn’t see right away.

“What happened down here?” he asked?

“Somebody ripped some of the power cords leading to the crystal and from what I am getting from the security drones it was done by hand.” A voice said from a communicator Silver Blazer was wearing and Olivia’s enhanced hearing picked up on it.

“Ultimo could rip 1 of them off in this short a time and live and you are telling me that this person ripped out how many power lines?” Silver Blazer asked.

“4 of them clustered in a tight group.”

Olivia was shocked to hear this because she only found it hard to rip the cords off for a split second and then her body became strong enough to rip them apart like they were made of paper in less than a second and energies she felt touching them gave her a slight tickling sensation that was getting less apparent the longer she held it. The energy obviously had no serious negative effects on her at all in anyway. The fact that Ultimo couldn’t rip 1 of them off without being killed made her wonder what kind of power she really had. He would leave and she would follow him to a small room that had a direct connection to the main frame in the computer room. He did so very fast and she followed him and found that she had no trouble keep up with him deep down she was getting very excited about how powerful she was compared to just 2 of her heroic icons. Her suit’s stealth field also controlled the sounds she made as well by limiting the vibration of air molecules around it making her impossible to hear as well and she was lucky for that. The cameras didn’t see her because her stealth field absorbed all light and energy hitting it preventing a camera from receiving the energy back making her invisible to all types of energy detection unless she made a major mental error herself. Silver Blazer would log on to the main console and look to find people that could be strong enough to do what just happened and as he was doing it he was knocked out and placed on the floor. The cloaking field was disabled and Olivia would look over the database that was accessible to find word on Project S and all the people involved in it she would download the data into her suit without viewing it knowing it would take too long to look at it and she picked up the Silver Blazer with one hand and kissed him a few times before she returned to the screen he was at before he was knocked out and enabled her cloaking field the door was open still and she headed back out. When she hit the water it caught the attention of the security bots in the area since they couldn’t see her the act of hitting the water was enough to alert the security of an intruder. Red lights flashed in and out of the water and access to the entrance she came in from closed itself up but she was determined to get out. Olivia attempted to force the heavy doors open and as expected the doors opened and she dents were left where she was gripping the heavy doors as well. The metal was the toughest material she ever tried to rip open but her strength adjusted to it increased itself to a level so high the act of gripping the doors and forcing them open was the same as opening a normal house door and she put so much energy into it that the door slammed open so hard that the it created a shockwave that shock the entire base. Olivia would swim back to shore a super sonic speed dodging underwater torpedoes targeting her as she sped off. The shock to the base created wild waves that hit the shore hard with some damage to the piers within reach of the island but nothing too serious. The shaking of the base woke up Silver Blazer and he would see Blaster with him asking if he was okay.

“I am fine but what happened I sudden had this big headache and I lost consciousness.”
“Great oddly enough the person that was here downloaded the info concerning Project S and all the major players involved in it still how could this person be strong enough to rip those power cords off and force the underwater door open as if they were a typical doors shaking this base and creating a shockwave that did a considerable amount of damage to the shore in a decent tsunami. Ultimo would need 5 to 10 minutes to open those doors by force a few feet and this person caused the door to open all the way in about a second. I would hate to see this person in battle.”

“And the fact that this person reached super sonic speed underwater makes them even more amazing and the fact that this person out swam our super sonic torpedoes on top of that. The other guys won’t like it when they hear about this.” Silver Blazer said.

The computer would say that the door that were forced open were damaged heavily as well and they were made of a metal harder than anything made on Earth naturally or artificially including diamond and repair bots would work overtime to repair the excessive damage done to the 4 ripped power cords and the underwater doors.
